The Centre for Human Resource Innovation with the
Murdoch University Business School is a recognised centre for
continuing training and education focusing on sustainable human
resource solutions that will serve current and future generations
through the integration of social advancement and economic
prosperity. The centre has a significant organisational development,
training and education capability well suited to the human resource
research, innovation and professional services.
CHRI is uniquely both practitioner and academically
focused. It provides a variety of professional and academic services
designed to value-add to both academic and industry professionals
through a variety of programs. The Human Resource Management (HRM)
industry has experienced a rather dramatic elevation in status and
importance in the past decade. This has been even more so with the
skill shortage crisis facing Australia. This has seen the human
resource function, formerly personnel management, become a strategic
function represented at top management level in most modern
companies and public organisations. The reasons for this are many
and varied, but revolve mainly around the need for the acquisition,
development and retention of scarce talent.
